Single Row Angular Contact Ball Bearing can carry axial load acting in one direction only, An axial force caused by a radial load imposed on the bearing must be counteracted. Congruently the bearing are normally adjusted by a second bearing.
The single Row angular contact ball can only carry axial load in single direction, they are mainly used in the arrangement where there is only one bearing at one end of the transmission shaft.
The precision of a spindle bearing does affect the guiding properties as well as lifetime, especially with applications at max. speed. HTH high precision bearings are manufactured to precision class 4,calss 2 and class 5 (P4, P2 and P5) as well as ABEC 7, ABEC 9 and ABEC 5.
For special applications, e.g. vacuum pumps, gyroscopes as well as measuring engineering and optical systems, HTH manufactures bearings to the internal tolerance classes HG (high precision) and UP (ultra precision). 2. Contact angle
The contact angle is formed by a straight line drawn between the points of contact of the balls with the raceways and a plane perpendicular to the bearing axis. Externally applied loads are transmitted from one ring to the other along this line.
The contact angle is designed into the bearing and changes during operation with the speed, the external forces and the difference in temperature between the inner and the outer ring.
With increasing contact angle:

b, Radial rigidity decreases
c, Axial rigidity increases
